Violeta Mansilla
Independent curator, researcher and producer
Violeta Mansilla (1987, Argentina) is currently conducting a PhD in Gender Studies and Politics. She works in close collaboration with artists and collectives exploring queer identities, performance, and video as hybrid and disobedient languages. Her curatorial projects take the form of installations where action, affect and memory intertwine, rooted in collective fictions capable of imagining and sustaining other possible worlds.
Description project at PART
During the PART residency, Violeta will continue her PhD in Gender Studies and Politics, exploring how sexual dissidences build 'living archives' as performative tools for collective empowerment and historical justice, aimed at disrupting official narratives. On her stay, she aims to engage deeply with Vienna’s queer scene through active conversations with artists/activists and visiting archives, institutional and off spaces.
Violeta Mansilla is visiting Vienna on a research trip in June 2026. Her visit was made possible through a collaboration between PART residency and Phileas.
