Phileas supports three artists at the 25th Biennale of Sydney

Belinda Kazeem-Kamiński, Bouchra Khalili and Hui Ye at the Biennale of Sydney

Founded in 1973, the Biennale of Sydney is one of the world’s leading festivals for international contemporary art. Its 25th edition, curated by Hoor Al-Qasimi, is titled Rememory and explores how acts of recollection can reclaim suppressed histories.

Belinda Kazeem-Kamiński works across photography, installation, and performance, creating research-driven projects grounded in Black feminist theory that examine colonial legacies, representation, and the presence of absence in public archives.

Bouchra Khalili works with film, installation, and graphic art. Rooted in oral history and documentary practice, her work amplifies the voices of migrant and diasporic communities and reclaims overlooked collective histories.

Hui Ye is a composer and interdisciplinary artist whose work spans sound, video, and performance. Her practice explores how memory, identity, and social relations are shaped through listening.

We’re proud to support three Austrian and Austria-based positions at this year’s Biennale of Sydney.
