Gilberto González (born 1975 in La Laguna, Spain) is a Spanish curator and cultural manager specializing in contemporary art. He currently serves as artistic deputy director of the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (CAAC), Seville (ES) and the Centro de Creación Contemporánea de Andalucía (C3A), Córdoba (ES), a position he assumed in 2024 following a public selection process. He has more than two decades of experience in cultural management, museum planning, and curatorial practice. González holds a degree in Art History from the University of La Laguna (ES) and pursued advanced studies in museology through a fellowship at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C. (US). Throughout his career, he has worked with major cultural institutions in Spain, including developing museum plans for the Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo (MIAC), Lanzarote (ES) and the Museo de Bellas Artes de Tenerife (ES). From 2018 to 2023, he was artistic director of TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, Santa Cruz de Tenerife (ES), where he led the museum’s curatorial and institutional program. In addition to his institutional work, González has curated numerous exhibitions in museums such as MUSAC – Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León, León (ES) and C3A, Córdoba (ES), and has published articles and given lectures on contemporary art and museology. He also served as associate professor of Art Theory at the University of La Laguna (ES).

Gilberto González will visit Austria on a curatorial exchange with Catapulta in March 2026.
