Pieternel Vermoortel

Pieternel Vermoortel is Senior Curator with a focus on visual arts at Steirischer Herbst (Graz, Austria). She previously headed the Belgian cultural institution Netwerk Aalst (2016 – 2022 Aalst, Belgium) and is co-founder of the London-based curatorial collective and art space FormContent (2006-2016 London, UK). In the last few years she curated and commissioned projects with a.o. Pablo Bronstein, Jeremiah Day, Ieva Epnere, Lucile Desamory, Dora Garcia, Jos de Gruyter & Harald Thys, Laure Prouvost, Meg Stuart and Imogen Stidtworthy. Pieternel Vemoortel published extensively and curated exhibitions in Antwerp, London, Cairo, Singapore, Sibiu, Turin, etc. She has held permanent teaching positions at Goldsmiths College London and Curatorial Studies KASK Ghent.

Pieternel Vermoortel will visit Norway on a curatorial exchange with OCA Norway in November 2025.
