Artist Talk with Marina Faust, Lou Stoppard and Eric Troncy
Marina Faust’s long-standing collaboration with fashion designer Martin Margiela, as well as her ongoing work with the art magazine Frog, forms the starting point for this conversation.
Reflecting the multifaceted nature of her artistic practice, the talk explores the intersection of art, fashion and visual culture.

Marina Faust, geboren 1950 in Wien, entwickelt seit mehr als vierzig Jahren ein facettenreiches Werk, in dem Fotografie, Video, Collage, Performance und Skulptur fließend ineinandergreifen. Sie arbeitet regelmäßig mit der französischen Kunstzeitschrift Frog zusammen und publiziert dort Fotografien und Texte.
Ihre Arbeiten waren in zahlreichen internationalen Institutionen zu sehen, darunter im Museum der Moderne Salzburg (2020); im Le Consortium, Dijon (2017); und im Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid (2013). Ihre Arbeiten befinden sich unter anderem in den Sammlungen des Museums für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg; des Belvedere, Wien; des Musée National d’Art Moderne – Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; des Museums für Angewandte Kunst, Wien; sowie der Fondation Cartier, Paris.
2019 erhielt Faust den renommierten Otto-Breicha-Preis für Fotokunst, 2024 den Österreichischen Kunstpreis für künstlerische Fotografie.
Marina Faust lebt und arbeitet in Wien.

Lou Stoppard is a London-based writer and curator. Her books include a survey of the work of street photographer Shirley Baker, published by Mack in 2019; Pools, an exploration of swimming in photography, published by Rizzoli in 2020; and Exteriors: Annie Ernaux and Photography, published by Mack in 2024, to time with an exhibition of the same name which she curated at MEP, Paris. She has written for The Financial Times, Aperture, Frieze, The New York Times and The New Yorker. Her fiction has appeared in publications including Five Stories for Philip Guston, published by Printed Matter in 2024.

Eric Troncy is a French curator and art critic. He is co-founder and editor of FROG Magazine (since 2005) and Documents sur l'art (1992-2000), collaborator for Numéro magazine, author of numerous catalogue texts, and co-director of Le Consortium (contemporary art center of Dijon, France).
As a curator, he has notably organised the exhibitions No Man’s Time (Villa Arson, 1990), Weather Everything (Leipzig Museum, 1998), Coollustre(Collection Lambert, 2003), The Deer (Le Consortium, 2011), The Shell (Almine Rech Gallery Paris, 2015), The Echo of Picasso (Museo Picasso Málaga, 2023).
He directed the APAC Art Center from 1989 to 1991, and Le Consortium Museum since 1996, a time during which he organised over a hundred monographic exhibitions: Ugo Rondinone, (1997 & 2004), Felix Gonzalez-Torres (2002), Juergen Teller (2010), Joe Bradley (2014), Alex Israel (2013), Brian Calvin (2015), Emily Mae Smith (2018), Salvo (2018), Genesis Belanger (2021), Nicolas Party ( 2021), Tursic & Mille (2022); Torbjørn Rødland (2023), Carroll Dunham & Laurie Simmons (2024); Andreas Schulze (2025), Lili Reynaud-Dewar (2025), Genesis Tramaine (2025).
