Head of the Art Programme
Edgaras Gerasimovičius is a Vilnius-based curator, art historian, and PhD candidate in Art History and Theory at the VDA Institute of Art Research. He is currently Head of the Art Programme at the Contemporary Art Centre’s Sapieha Palace in Vilnius (LTU).
Gerasimovičius’ main interests include the relationship between art and technology, theories of labour, informal economies, and forms of escapism. Recent group exhibitions he has curated and co-curated include Housekeeping in a Dangerous Time (2026), Breaking the Joints (2025), Exit Elephantine (2024), Refuge (2024), How I Walked Into the Room Through the Door by Laura Kaminskaitė and Ona Juciūtė (2023), and In the Beginning Was the Deed! (2023). From 2019 to 2024, Gerasimovičius was the director of Swallow, a platform for the production and distribution of art in the Baltics.
Edgaras Gerasimovičius is visiting Vienna on a group research trip in September 2026.
